Resolution number R2009.12.1 - Changing Primary Polling Place from Town Hall to Fire Hall
WHEREAS the Town Board shall designate a polling place by resolution pursuant to Wis. Stats. §5.15 (4);
WHEREAS Wis. Stat. §5.25 does not require the Town’s polling place to be within the Township;
WHEREAS the Town Board shall establish a polling place at least 60 days before a September and general election and at least 30 days for each other election pursuant to Wis. Stats. §5.25 (3);
WHEREAS the Town Board is responsible for ensuring that all polling places shall be accessible to all individuals with disabilities pursuant to Wis. Stats. §5.25 (4);
WHEREAS the recently built Hortonville-Hortonia Fire Hall features are complaint with accessibility for individuals with disabilities;
WHEREAS the Town of Hortonia and the Village of Hortonville have entered into an agreement on November 5th, 2009 authorizing the Town to use the Fire Hall as a polling place;
WHEREAS the Board Supervisors of the Town of Hortonia, Outagamie County, Wisconsin, by this resolution, authorizes by a majority of the Town Board on a roll call vote with a quorum present and voting and proper notice having been given, resolves and orders as follows:
The official polling place for the Town of Hortonia will be at the Hortonville-Hortonia Fire Hall, 700 West Nye Street, Village of Hortonville and in the event that the Fire Hall is unavailable will continue to use the Town Hall at W9702 Givens Road, Town of Hortonia.
The town clerk shall properly post or publish this resolution as required under Wis. Stat §60.80.
