Five Hundred Twenty-Eight voter tickets adorn the desk of Adeline Marks and Alice Lathrop (l. to r.) in the Town of Hortonia Tuesday night. Both Marks and Lathrop have over 40 years experience working at the polls. Eighty-one percent of registered voters in the town showed up for the recent mid-term election.

Mrs. Marks & Mrs. Lathrop both retired in 2010 after working at the HHFD Fire Hall polling place as election inspectors during the November 2, 2010 election. They were presented with service awards by Chairman John Jaeckle at the April 12, 2011 Annual Meeting.

The Town of Hortonia is hosted the Wisconsin Towns Association Outagamie County Unit meeting this quarter on Monday, July 19^th, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Because our historic Town Hall is not equipped to handle a group of this size, the meeting was hosted outside Hortonia Township at a facility with a banquet hall. The location: River Rail &bull N5547 River Street • Shiocton, Wisconsin 54170 • Phone : (920) 986-3222

Meeting agenda featured:
• Outagamie County Planning Director Michael Hendrick - topic: Farmland Preservation
• Outagamie County Treasurer Dina Mumford - topic: Proposed agreement regarding Delinquent Taxes and Special Assessments

Approximately 70 people attended including officials from neighboring Townships in Outagamie County, County officials and staff, and guests.

It was a unseasonably cold outside, but the pot bellied stove warmed up the Town Hall nicely - a little too nicely, causing audience members to open the windows for a time.
